Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Are you ready to feel less stress and anxiety in your life? Let’s work together.
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) requires specialized care in both counseling and psychiatric treatment methods. However, while there exist several long-term, in-depth psychotherapeutic treatments for PTSD, such as Cognitive Processing Therapy, EMDR, and Prolonged Exposure therapy, there is a notable lack of detailed treatment plans for short-term counseling approaches.
The goal of this Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) manual is to propose a 12-sesssion counseling plan to address coping and managing skills and short-term treatments of PTSD. This manual is appropriate for student therapists and those working with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) who may not have specialized short term therapeutic training in trauma, such as: Ego State Therapy, hypnosis, or EMDR, but need to manage the symptoms clients experience without diving into the trauma and subjecting the client to vulnerable exposure. Importantly, the modules proposed in the following manual will vary in use for each individual client, and need not be constrained to a certain order or timeline. For instance, a client presenting with quickly triggered symptoms right away will need immediate reference to coping skills, possibly before psychoeducation can take place.
