About
Breaking lifelong patterns in thinking, behaviour, and nervous system response—across anxiety, relationships, and communication
With over 20 years of experience in mental and integrative health, I provide counselling to individuals and couples across British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. Based in Vancouver, I offer both in-person and online therapy, lead communication workshops, and co-developed the Shared Meaning Model®, an approach that helps people move beyond words to understand the meaning underneath, creating deeper understanding, connection, and lasting change.
My foundation is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)—one of the most researched and effective approaches for anxiety, stress, and the patterns that keep people stuck. But I’ve never believed that one approach fits everyone. Lasting change often requires working with both the mind and the body, which is why I integrate evidence-based approaches such as clinical hypnosis, EMDR, Schema Therapy, and other neuroscience-informed methods.
Over the course of my career, I’ve learned that meaningful change depends on understanding what is maintaining the problem—not simply applying a technique. Depending on your needs, I may work top-down by addressing thought patterns, beliefs, and behaviours, or bottom-up by working with the body, emotional experience, and implicit memory when deeply held patterns require more than insight alone. Sometimes the work is behavioural — understanding the function of what you’re doing and building toward something more workable. Sometimes it’s relational — creating enough safety that the parts of you that have been running the show can finally loosen their grip. And sometimes the most overlooked piece is the most practical one: identifying the concrete problems that anxiety and stress have quietly made harder to solve.
Many clients notice a shift within the first few sessions as they begin learning how to change their thinking at a foundational level.

My work is grounded in understanding how attention shapes emotion, behaviour, and meaning. Clinical Hypnosis provides a framework for working with focused attention throughout therapy, allowing deeper patterns to be understood and updated without separating hypnosis from the therapeutic process. Most clients don’t experience it as a distinct technique—they simply experience therapy that reaches deeper than conversation alone.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor in private practice (RCC #17210) and a member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I serve on the Executive Board and Faculty of the BC Clinical Hypnosis Society, am a member of the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST), and hold membership with the BC College of Teachers. I am also the author of Food Freedom, a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) manual for problematic eating.
